Indian Journal of Otology, a publication of Indian Institute of Ear Diseases, is a peer-reviewed online journal with Quarterly print on demand compilation of issues published. The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.indianjotol.org. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission, processing or publication of manuscripts and even for color reproduction of photographs.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Scope of the journal

The journal will cover technical and clinical reports related to fields of Otology, Neuro-otology, Skull base, audiology and allied specialties in humans. It intends to report original research and educative articles in these fields. Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference. The readers are a diverse group of professionals belonging to multiple specialties such as otorhinolaryngology, speech language pathology, audiology, neuro-otology, skull base surgery, head and neck surgery, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, psychology and Neuro surgery. Even those pursuing studies in these subjects patronize this journal.
